The Peloponnese region invests 1.9 million euros in a new tourism promotion program for 2022

the Peloponnese Tourist destinations and thematic tourist products in the region will be promoted in 2022 through a new program of 1.95 million euros.

Recently presented to local authorities and tourism stakeholders by the Deputy Governor of the Peloponnese in charge of tourism Anna Kalogeropoulou, the promotional program covers a wide range of activities.

According to Kalogeropoulou, the new program aims to boost awareness of the destination, extend the season through the promotion of themed forms of tourism and increase traveler satisfaction.

The new tourism promotion program for the Peloponnese includes the following elements seven gestures:

– participation in tourism and agri-food exhibitions – physical, digital or hybrid

– advertising through digital and traditional media

– update and management of digital tourism communication canals

– organization of events and festivals including the Peloponnese Gastronomy Festival

– production of promotional materials contents (audiovisual material, photos, texts, etc.)

– development of studies for (a) updating the tourism communication identity of the region, (b) creating a destination management organization, (c) developing thematic tourism products such as gastronomy, ecotourism and rural tourism.

public relations activities such as familiarization trips, roadshows and conferences.

During the meeting, the Governor of the Peloponnese Panagiotis Nikas expressed his optimism that 2022 could be a good year for Greek tourism given the circumstances related to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Governor Nikas pointed out that the region aims to increase its number of visitors through activities related to transport safety and the promotion of monuments and points of natural beauty.

Also present at the meeting was the President of the Peloponnese Tourism Organization Konstantin Marinakos.

Speaking recently to the Greek online magazine hotel restaurant, he said that the region’s tourism actions for 2022 should also focus on soft development tourism and the agribusiness sector for the benefit of many family business units operating in the Peloponnese.
