Customers of some of the UK’s largest supermarkets are urged to check their cabinets as many products are being recalled for safety reasons.
Periodically, supermarkets will recall items if they are found to be unfit for consumers’ consumption or use.
It is important to keep an eye out for these as often faulty products can cause serious harm to some people.

Recently, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, M&S, Waitrose, Aldi and Lidl are among those affected by product recalls.

One of the items listed is a popular chocolate snack, M & Ms.
Problems with the items include undeclared allergens, faulty equipment that could potentially cause burns, and GMOs.

Crispy M & M’s
M & M’s Crispers have been recalled by Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Morrisons after a genetically modified organism (GMO) was found in one of the ingredients.
The recall notice read, “Due to customer preferences, GMOs are not used in Mars Wrigley products in Europe, which is the reason for this recall.
“Mars Wrigley does not use GMOs in any of our products in Europe. Additionally, GMOs are not permitted for this ingredient under UK law and therefore the products must be recalled.”

Sainsbury’s currently has three active product recall advisories, including M & M’s.
Other items listed on the site include Highland Spring Sparkling Water and Sainsbury’s Complete Hypoallergenic Dry Cat Food.
Highland Spring sparkling glass 750ml

Highland Spring said they were recalling the product “as a precaution, due to a small number of reports that the bottle had quality issues.”
They added, “We ask customers who have purchased this product not to consume and place it in a bag and safely dispose of it, where a full refund will be issued and no receipt is required.”
Customers who have purchased this item should contact Highland Spring Ltd.
Sainsbury’s Hypoallergenic Recipe Complete Dry Cat Food 800g (Chicken / Salmon 1+ Years)

Sainsbury’s said: “As a precaution, Sainsbury’s is voluntarily recalling all Sainsbury’s Hypoallergenic Recipe Complete Dry Cat Food packages with Chicken 1+ Years 800g and Salmon 1+ Years 800g.
“We are supporting an investigation by food and veterinary authorities into a possible safety issue affecting cats.”
Customers were asked to return the product to Sainsbury’s for a full refund or to contact their support line.
There are two active product recall notices listed on Lidl’s website, including a wallpaper stripper and patatas bravas.
Parkside Steam Wallpaper Stripper
There are concerns that the Parkside Steam Wallpaper Remover sold in Lidl’s popular midway has a faulty cover, which could come off unexpectedly and burn the user.
The affected product model is PDTA 5 A1, with the international article number (IAN) 332976_1907 – this can be found on the top of the article.
Lidl advised customers who purchased the item not to use it, but to return it to the store for a full refund, with or without a receipt.
My Street Food Patatas Bravas with Aioli Dip 560g

Lidl is recalling this product because the label does not mention that it contains sweet whey powder – a product derived from milk, which means it may pose a risk to people who are allergic or intolerant to milk.
Customers with allergies to milk or intolerance to milk or milk components have been advised not to eat the item but return it to the store for a full refund.
M&S is currently recalling a number of items due to undeclared allergens and safety concerns.
Items listed on the website include: stuffed Medjool dates, M&S Thai red curry, Picard food items, and a wooden toy bus.

ELC wooden London bus
M&S said: “Batch codes that contain 08-20 are not affected – no further action is required.
“For all other lot codes, please check that the head attachment is securely attached to the passengers. If you discover a loose head, please keep it away from your child. “
Customers were asked to return the toy by mail if they wanted to receive a full refund.
Aldi is currently only recalling one product according to its website.

Aldi said: “Our supplier is recalling this product due to the presence of mustard and barley which are not declared on the label. Customers with allergies to mustard or barley are advised not to eat this product. product.”
Customers are requested to return this product to their nearest store, where a full refund will be issued.
Recalled items listed on Tesco’s website include white fondant frosting and sea salt popchips.
Tesco White Fondant Glaze 500g

Tesco said: “We have been informed that a small number of packages of Tesco White Fondant Icing 500g have been improperly packaged with Tesco Marzipan 500g which contains almonds which are not declared on the package.”
Customers are advised not to consume the product but to return it to Tesco.
Popchips sea salt 85g

Lot code: YP1D 1180 with time code 22:00 to 23:09, YP1D 1181 with time code 00:00 to 00:10.
A statement on Tesco’s website said: “KP Snacks Ltd recalls 85g sharing bags of sea salt crisps.
“This is because they were improperly filled with sour cream flavored popchips that contain milk, which is not declared on the package.”
