~This day of the environment, Titan jewelry highlights its mission of sustainable development~

Environmental sustainability has become one of the most important influences in our purchasing behavior. There is an increase in the level of awareness among young consumers. A radical change is observed in the preference of consumers who are more inclined to buy products that have the least impact on the environment.

Tanishq, India’s largest jeweler, has taken giant steps in this direction. Titan Company Limited’s jewelry manufacturing facility is making steady progress towards being water positive and carbon neutral by 2030, alongside other sustainability initiatives in retail and other functions.

Along the same lines, Mia by Tanishq, one of India’s hottest jewelry brands for Millennials and Gen Z, has announced the use of 100% recycled gold in the manufacture of its jewelry. The brand also unveiled various new initiatives aimed at creating an inclusive jewelry brand when it comes to the environment, resources and consumers. As part of the environment day theme “Only One Earth”, Mia by Tanishq has taken a green leap forward and is happy to announce this initiative. Mia’s broader vision for sustainability includes various initiatives and programs that help build a society with clean energy and conscious living.

With Mia by Tanishq, Titan’s jewelry division joins the commitment to make progress in improving energy management, water conservation and reducing carbon emissions with the resolve to make a change contributing to a greener earth.

Speaking on the brand’s sustainability initiatives, Mr. Ajoy Chawla, CEO of Titan’s Jewelry Division, says “The Jewelery Division has set ambitious sustainability targets to become carbon neutral and water positive in manufacturing by 2030. all of our supplier partners, to ensure they meet our definition of requirements standard for their operations by the end of this fiscal year. All of our jewelry retail stores are also striving to become more energy and water efficient through multiple initiatives.

While 40% of the total gold used in the division for jewelry manufacturing is recycled, I am delighted to share that 100% of the gold used for “Mia by Tanishq” is now recycled gold, which reduces the need to mine fresh gold. Also, in line with this year’s Environment Day theme, “One Land”, a tree will be planted for every customer who purchases from a Mia store in the month of June in 8 villages of Bhilwara.
