ATLANTA–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Logility, Inc., a leader in supply chain innovation serving the sustainable and resilient business, today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Starboard Solutions Corp. ., a Traverse City, Michigan-based supply chain network design software innovator.
Starboard creates an interactive supply chain digital twin of the physical supply chain network and uses in-game technology to provide an intuitive user experience where users can easily explore the answers to “what if” questions such as “And if I added another distribution point?” if I consolidate production on one site?”, “What if I change my supply mix?” or “What if I redirect via another port?”
Starboard offers a unique supply chain visualization solution that can be optimized for unknown locations, meaning users don’t have to map their plans to a physical location. By applying Starboard’s rich set of benchmark costs with Logility’s lane rates and temporal data structures, users have the ability to quickly analyze options in regions for which they do not have prior data and locate the absolute best location for future factories, warehouses or 3PL locations. The intuitive design and ease of configuration make the Starboard network design solution stand out. The solution is designed for continuous use, eliminating the need for a consulting project to model potential solutions to unexpected supply chain disruptions.
“Now more than ever, supply chain managers need solutions to help them see around the corner, plan plausible change, and pivot quickly to move their business forward. The addition of Starboard to the Logility’s portfolio offers our clients that and more,” said Allan Dow, President of Logility. “Starboard gives Logility’s clients the confidence to make the right multi-billion dollar investment decisions based on the profile of their sustainability, risk, cost and service.”
The integration of Starboard’s capabilities into Logility’s digital supply chain platform will provide supply chain managers with enhanced integrated business planning results. Once available, users will be able to:
improve risk mitigation by measuring and tracking future deliveries for each vendor and identifying bottlenecks;
adapt to other supplier scenarios and find new suppliers;
understand and reduce emissions with the industry’s first Scope 3 emissions platform;
and determine total landed costs, by measuring tariffs and taxes at each node.
Users will be able to model a disruption response and update their operating plan within the Logility Digital Supply Chain platform in minutes to embrace the new operating paradigm.
“We launched Starboard to create a modern, easy way for supply chain managers to visualize their supply chains and make better decisions,” said Steve Johanson, CEO of Starboard. “Partnering with a recognized leader in supply chain planning technology like Logility is a natural extension of that goal. Our joint approach to innovation and customer service will undoubtedly create a positive impact for our customers and the market as a whole.
