Darcy Kuemper attends the North American NHL Player Media Tour in Las Vegas

Washington Capitals number one goaltender Darcy Kuemper was in Las Vegas on Thursday to participate in NHL Player Media North American Tour activities.

The league and its media are using the tour as an opportunity to film content for player interviews and prepare promotional material for the upcoming season.

The day gave us a first look at what the 32-year-old goaltender will look like in his full Capitals uniform. He also got to hang out with Steve Dangle, which was probably worth the trip alone.

ESPN took the opportunity to get some great action shots of Kuemper as they prepare to cover the Capitals’ home opener against the Boston Bruins on Oct. 12.

Sportsnet took a more informal approach and had the Saskatoon native play a bit of Pucktionary. He either drew the whole province of Saskatchewan or…maybe his favorite shape?

The 2022 Stanley Cup champion even had a mini-meeting of sorts with his former teammate and Conn Smythe Trophy-winning defenseman Cale Makar.

On the second day of the tour, TNT had him try to juggle a soccer ball while at full speed on the ice. Easier said than done.

He concluded his two days in Nevada by participating in a few rounds of virtual golf.

Kuemper hit the ice with his new teammates for the first time as a member of the Caps earlier this week. The first day of training camp is just six days away.
